Music Needs Friends
Whether past, present or future, an event such as the Menuhin Festival Gstaad requires a great deal of private support in order to endure. The contributions from the Association of Festival Friends cover nearly 10% of the annual budget and provide a guarantee for the high standard of the festival concerts. The 2012 programme
The green of fall has made way for a majestic blanket of white: Gstaad and the surrounding regions are ready to celebrate an enchanting winter season. The Menuhin Festival and its intendant Christoph Müller are proud to present as of today the programme for the 2012 festival which will take place under the motto of “air”.

2012–2013: The Gstaad Festival Orchestra on concert tour
The Gstaad Festival Orchestra is not only a fantastic attraction for visitors at the Menuhin Festival: it is also an eloquent representative of the Saanenland region abroad, a symbol of excellence, innovation and openness.

The 55th Menuhin Festival: a blazing edition!
The 55th Menuhin Festival Gstaad celebrated its last round of fireworks this weekend with an evening of music by Bach, Haydn and Mendelssohn with Emmanuel Pahud and the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra at the church in Saanen on Friday, and a Romantic celebration featuring Saint-Saëns’ First Cello Concerto (soloist: Sol Gabetta) and Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony with Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in the Festival Tent on Saturday.

Message for our guests of yesterday’s concert:
Due to the heavy storm forecast the management of the Menuhin Festival Gstaad was obliged to cancel the tent concert of August 26th.
The management will voluntarily refund all tickets for yesterday evening's concert.
Holders of season passes or free tickets are not entiteled for any refund.

Das Menuhin Festival Gstaad 2011 öffnet am Freitag seine Pforten
Aus der einstigen Idee von Tourismusdirektor Paul Valentin, dass Feriengast Lord Yehudi Menuhin doch im Sommer mit seinen Musiker-Freunden für die Saaner Bevölkerung konzertieren könnte, ist der grösste Sommerevent des Saanenlandes und eines der grössten Klassik-Festivals der Schweiz geworden, dessen jährliche Umsetzung schon längst eines gut strukturierten Unternehmens im Hintergrund bedarf. Ohne Zweifel steht und fällt der Erfolg des Festivals natürlich mit den zum Teil weltberühmten Künstlern und ihren jeweiligen Programmen, welche Intendant Christoph Müller seit Jahren mit sicherem Händchen für den Geschmack des hiesigen Publikums wählt – und sie dank seiner Kontakte auch nach Gstaad bekommt. Bis die Stars aber schliesslich auf der hiesigen Bühne stehen können, ist weitaus mehr nötig als ein Telefonanruf des Intendanten .
