A dream finale

The 55^th edition of the Menuhin Festival Gstaad came to a close on Saturday, 3 September, in a sold-out tent for a sure-thing triumph: the first collaboration between brilliant cellist Sol Gabetta and legendary conductor Zubin Mehta at the head of “his” Israel Philharmonic Orchestra – on their “honeymoon” this year on the occasion of the 50^th anniversary of …  their first collaboration together! Debussy’s Iberia, Saint-Saëns’ First Cello Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony were the ingredients to the perfect recipe to bring seven weeks of beautiful music to a close.
