Gstaad Vocal Academy – Cecilia Bartoli & Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli

Following the great success of the first Vocal Academy from 27 to 31 August 2009, the Menuhin Festival is pleased to welcome back these two grandes dames of song in Saanenland and to be able to offer young, promising singers the unique opportunity to work together with them within the framework of the “Gstaad Vocal Academy”. Cecilia Bartoli and her mother Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli will teach a select group of students publically from 18 to 25 August 2010. The results of their collaboration will be presented to the public in a concert on the last day of the masterclass.

On the occasion of the launching of the first edition Cecilia Bartoli wrote: “I am very pleased to realize a project together with the Menuhin Festival Gstaad that is personally very important to me: the promotion of talented young singers. Together with my mother Silvana Bazzoni, a superb teacher and specialist for the great Italian tradition of song, we would like to teach sound vocal technique as well as the art of singing. In addition to our own experiences, we would like show the fundamental importance of the analysis of style, content and music history for a quintessential interpretation. And aside from this, I think it is simply wonderful to be able to spend a few days surrounded by the natural beauty of Saanenland immersed in an atmosphere of music.”
