Her heritage is mixed, Japanese (her mother studied piano in Tokyo) and German (her father was a civil engineer); Mona Asuka was born in Munich in 1991. Like her older sister, Alice Sara Ott (who also is following a successful artistic career), she studied with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling at the Mozarteum in Salzburg before joining Bernd Glemser’s class in Würzburg.
