Orchestral Concert

Monday, 17 July 2017
7.30 pm, Saanen Church

An Israeli in Venice! Or the world in all of its wonderfully diverse colors. Avi Avital’s art does not know any borders. The mandolin virtuoso who signed a contract with Deutsche Grammophon at the beginning of the 2010’s has demonstrated himself at home in music ranging from the joyous Italian Baroque to endeavors in world music. As on his delightful recording “Between Worlds”, he presents a programme in which serene sonorities dialogue with tunes from the shores of the Black Sea. He is joined by the enthusiastic young talents of the Menuhin School Orchestra.
